Political confrontations: The begginings of the Cold War

The Cold War is know as the political confrontation between two superpowers, the Soviet Union and  the United States of America. We read about the background of the war and we created a timeline.

En la clase de Matemática nos propusimos a digitalizar uno de los problemas que realizamos en clase.

"Un helicóptero vuela a una altura de 1000m sobre una cumbre de 5210m de altura. Un segundo pico, más alto, se ve desde la primera montaña y desde el helicóptero. Desde el aparato, el ángulo de depresión es de 45° y desde la primera cumbre, el ángulo de elevación es de 60°.

a)Calcular la distancia de cima a cima
b)Calcular la altura del segundo pico."

La historia detrás de la historia

Comenzamos a leer Kryptonita, un libro de Leonardo Oyola que cuenta una historia acerca de algunos de los super héroes de DC Comics. Los personajes nos han parecido realmente interesantes, pues el autor ha decidido crearlos como si hubiesen nacido en Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Nos dividimos en grupos, asingnándonos a cada uno un personaje distinto. Entre estos protagonistas se encuentra uno que representa a la famosa Mujer Maravilla, personaje establecido para mi equipo. Buscamos información de sus poderes, su historia y con todo lo encontrado realizamos una infografía.

Creativity moment: Writing Competition

In the Language class with Andrea Schejter we were given the following activity:

Instructions:
Choose one of the following subjects to write about

INTERMEDIATE

a) Write a story which contains: "I will never forget that day"

b) How did he dare do that to me?

c) We should be more concerned about the dangers of social networking.

I chose letter "a" and I wrote:

Heartbeat

"He stood closer 
and our lips got together, 
he softly kissed me as I melted inside".

-Ethan had never been the expressive type of guy, his mouth rarely pronounced words that reflected his thoughts, he had never been the romantic type of boyfriend either...- Sara looked at me as if I was taking too long to say what she wanted to hear -Anyway, you know I love him...

-First kiss?- she interrupted.

-Oh, Come on! You're taking the magic away!- I laughed, she yelled. 

From one moment to another I was on the floor, Sara's body was all over me and her arms around my neck pulled me closer to her. 

I started remembering, we were studying in his room, we both knew I was leaving in some minutes and we both didn't want to separate. He asked if was readyand helped me put away all my school stuff. The tension was noticeablein the air and when we both looked at each other. I almost heard my heartbeat. He stood closer and our lips got together, he softly kissed me as I melter inside. A whisper brought me back to Earth. "I love you"

-Aaaaand? Did you like it?- my best friend was mocking me, I smiled

-I will never forget that day.
