I ask, you answer

-So, here I am with more news. As you know many floods caused damage in China in 1931, and here we have Trevor, who was there when this terrible catastrophe happened, Hi Trevor.

-Hi Fred, thank you very much for inviting me. As you said before I was there when it all happened so, what do you want to know?

-What were the causes of the floods?

- Well, it was very strange, because from 1929 to 1930, by the winter of 1930 [abnormal rains on Central China began and this was followed by snowstorms. Then in spring many rains made the amount of water increase in a very notable way when between July and August the rains raised. After the rains, 1931 was characterized by the cyclone activity; about nine cyclones hit the region. It was definitely a natural catastrophe, all the damages were caused by meteorological facts.

-What happened to the people and city?

-The city, located on an island, suffered catastrophic damages and the floods caused the deaths of more than 28 million people. Many people died of drowning or from waterborne diseases such as  typhus and cholera and lots of wives and daughters were sold by desperate residents who were afraid.

-What did you do?

-Well, I travelled by plane with all my family to England. Although it was hard to leave China we started to like being here. My daughter had to say good bye to her friends and I think that travelling abroad because of the floods was something she would have never imaginaed.

China´s floods in 1931

The floods in China in 1931 were really catastrophic. During 1928 and 1929 a large drought affected China, everything was really dry, the soil was erosioned and cracked. But some months later, abnormal weather was over Central? China during winter of 1930. But then the spring came, and with it the heavy rains that then raised the amount of water in the rivers. Between July and August the rains increased significantly and were followed by cyclones. In 1932 there were around eight or nine cyclones. Trevor Digles told us that he noticed that all the streets and many houses were full of water, and wherever he went, he could find persons throwing away the water with buckets. Two of the important flooded rivers of China that reached the capital in the island were mentioned in most of TV programs. Many families were evacuated and a lot of people got ill of cholera and typhus. Even women and daughters were sold and taken away because of this natural catastrophe. Around 4 million people lost their lives and the damage that was caused was enormous.

Creative Writing Task

The clubhouse started to vivrate, and everything was spinning Suddenly a white flash appeared and I fell down somewere on the ground. I look arround and I found a big castle decorated with flags of shels and I recognized that it was a joust., due to all the people of the village were there.
I realized I wasn´t wearing my glasses, but I could see everything perfectly. I tried to stand up but when I stood in two legs, I fell again and stood in four making a snort.
-Is that me?- I asked myself- Is that me?
Yes, it was me! I was a horse! A white horse with a green tunic on my back. I stood up and started walking. It wasn´t difficult and I was also very fast. In that moment the trompets sounded, someone climbed on me and I heard a familiar voice who said:
-Where´s Max now that I need him?-It was Steve!
      -I´m here I replied.
I looked at him and I couldn´t recognise if it was Steve the one who was talking to me. He looked like a man. Like a big strong man; his voice was deep and strong, but I couldn´t see his face bacause of the metalic helmet he was wearing. but when heared that nervous tone of voice, all my doubts desappeared-It was really my best friend.
